This one’s for “A Streetcar Named Desire.” The idea is to have light from the street casting through the window into Blanche’s corner of the apartment, overpowering the dim light of her paper lantern. In other words, her pretense as a woman of grace and refinement cannot compete with the harsh reality of her position. The sexual red light versus the pure white light. I don’t usually use Illustrator. It’s painstaking but rewarding. I watched the film over and over again for inspiration. It is truly excellent. I am in awe of Brando’s performance every time.
